http://jeffersonparkunited.org/content/fmog-submits-request-put-burner-%E2%80%9Cpark%E2%80%9D-27th-st-1

DETAILS:

Freeport McMoRan Oil & Gas (FMOG) submitted a request (Plan Approval) to LA City Planning to expand the natural gas operations (installation of a CEB 800 gas burner) into the landscaped hillside adjacent to 27th Street below the designated work area of the oil drill site on Adams and directly next to the St. Andrews Apartments in Jefferson Park.  The FMOG Plan Approval application is in PDF format at the end of this post.

The new review by Planning will include an investigation and analysis by an experienced Zoning Administrator, and the review will include a PUBLIC HEARING at which all concerned members of the public will be able to voice their concerns about the proposed project.

OPPORTUNITY FOR THE COMMUNITY VOICE TO BE HEARD:

The community can ask for CONDITIONS & MITIGATIONS.  Below is a list that was discussed at the last UNNC Board meeting.

This new Plan Approval review process gives the public an opportunity to make its voice heard on the question of expanding into the landscaped area on 27th St., which has been conditioned and maintained as landscaped open space since 1961.
