This map shows the first 2308 supporters for the Trader Joe's online petition. Clearly Baldwin Hills, Leimert Park, West Adams, and Jefferson Park are very enthusiastic about a Trader Joe's at Crenshaw and Rodeo. Click image to see larger version.

4th and Jefferson now has a name - Jefferson Square

If you have driven down Jefferson Blvd lately, you have probably noticed that construction has commenced at 4th and Jefferson on the project initiated by Kaifa Tulay and now being led by Thomas Safran and Associates.

The building now has a name - Jefferson Square.

Not only did Expo line finally start running this year, we have other projects breaking ground already or soon.

  1. Ralphs and the former Rite Aid on Crenshaw and Rodeo are going to be torn down. That's why the Chinese food place closed (moving the lottery ticket sales to Earlez), and why Cameo Cleaners moved across Crenshaw and became Comet Cleaners. This project is called

4th and Jefferson HPOZ Certificate of Compatibility

Los Angeles City Planning determination that the project at 4th and Jefferson is compatible with the Jefferson Park Preservation Plan Guidelines for Commercial Infill.

4th and Jefferson Building Progress Update

The developers of the planned mixed use project at 2401-2425 W. Jefferson Blvd. have been actively working on obtaining final approvals needed to proceed with the project.
